radio delete
in 69 did most novas come with a am radio and if car was radio delete would it have been ordered that way
|
Re: radio delete
Yes and Yes.

Re: radio delete
The AM Radio was a $61.10 option, and if not ordered the entire dash bezel is part of the 'delete'. There is no radio delete plate for the 3rd gen Novas.

Re: radio delete
my car has a plate that covers were the radio gos
|
Re: radio delete
3rd generation Novas didn't use a plate. Instead, the entire dash (plastic face plate)was made with a molded radio delete.
am radio = rpo U63 and am/fm = rpo U69 |
Re: radio delete
I'm assuming you have a '69? Not sure what your plate looks like, but GM did not make a separate plate for the 3rd gen Novas to my knowledge. The GM radio delete dash bezels appear to have a plate where the radio would be, but upon closer inspection, the blocked off area is actually part of the bezel - with NOVA on the center of it. It is not removable, although some people have chopped a hole through some https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif
Do you have a hole in the fender for the radio antenna? |
Re: radio delete
yes my car is a 69 here is a picture of the dash that block out plate can be removed and has a place for the radio with the holes for the knobs (volume and tunning is behind plate)

Re: radio delete
Won't a 69 Camaro radio delete plate fit a Nova dash?
69 Camaro radio delete ~ Ebay Depends how correct you want to be. I bought a one piece delete dash for my 70 Nova that didn't have the word "Nova" where the radio would go. May have been another year though. |

Won't a 69 Camaro radio delete plate fit a Nova dash? [/ QUOTE ] Yes it will!!! In 1969 Nova's didn't have the radio delete dash instead the delete plate was the same as in the 69 Camaros. It wasn't until 1970 when Nova's went to the complete radio delete dash that has Nova across the front where the radio would go. I hope this helps. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |
Re: radio delete
Yes a 69 Camaro radio delete plate will fit. However, the '69-71 Nova with no radio had the bezel that I've shown pictures of. The '72 had the same bezel with the addition of a red seat belt warning lens. The '73-74 Nova with no radio had a blank space molded in, but it didn't say "Nova".
