Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
I just spoke to the original owner of what might be the lowest mileage, most original Ram Air IV Trans Am there is. The car is 1970 white/black interior. It has 19,000 original miles, original paint, original tires, original exhaust, original everything. The interior is in his words "flawless", and the paint is "still beautiful". He bought the car brand new in Ohio, just outside of Columbus. It has been off the road for 10 years. What an amazing piece of Pontiac history. The owner was a extremely nice guy. I am impatiently waiting for pictures.

That was my 72 blue TA. Sold it in 1999
|
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
It cant be the lowest because i know someone who is the original owner of a 70 ta ram iv car with 2200 miles and its absolutly perfect in every respect. Been waiting for years for him to sell it to me. ITS THE REAL DEAL! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/burnout.gif

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
I will pay one dollar more than anything Charley is willing to pay. LOL LOL
And will pay a finders fee if you pass on the car. Charley already owns a one of eight manufactured convertible 69 TA. That's enough rare TAs for Charley already? |
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
NOT !!!!! I need a RA4

John,
Did you end up with the car? Someone is picking it up with that trailer! The TA looks amazing. Mark |
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
He sold another car.
|
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't that car have RAIV decals on the shaker? The III's didn't but I thought the IV's did. BTW nice car, if you get more pics I would love to see them.
|
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
The original ones that I've seen did not come with Ram Air IV decals. And this one did not come with them either. The convential wisdom is, that they did not come with Ram Air IV decals.

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
Sure would look good sitting in my barn.....

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
Chief,..straighten out some confusion. I thought the first generation TransAms,.67-70, were the last with the 400 c.i., Ram Air III and IV. The 70 1/2-74 TransAms(2nd Gen like mine) I thought were only available with the 455HO, and later the SD. Am I wrong?
|
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
As far as F bodies go '67-'69 birds had the 400 motor as an option, '67 had a Ram Air I option, '68 had Ram Air I and II option, but only the '69 Firebird and Trans Am had the Ram Air III and IV option. In 1970 only the Trans Am could be ordered with a Ram Air IV. '71 and '72 only came with 455 H.O. , no other motor option availible for those two years.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g3...7/2c61fc07.jpg [/ QUOTE ] The photo above reminds me a bit of the photo's taken in the movie "The Omen". If the picture is correct (diagonal line going through it)...the car has already been destroyed by the powers of evil. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif |
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif Not true. Because the diagonal line also passes thru a second car (in the background) and this second car is of a FoMoCo lineage, this would have a cancelling effect. So we could assume that the car may still be on the prowl. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
It would look terrible in any barn especially Charley's that car needs to be stored be in the desert to preserve it for history. Besides Charley already ruined that 69 TA convert. Look at the pictures they forgot to install the steering wheel. Talk about a trailer queen? LOL
|
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
FWIW, a friend of a friend has a "no miles"(other than what came off the transport '72) TA. He went as far as pulling the window with the sticker out of the car and storing it safely away, to preserve the window sticker. He installed another window in it's place and now the car sits in climate controlled storage while I try to devise a scheme to make it mine.
|
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
Is that one a RAIV? Mine is a 70 RAIV Cal. car, with 33k miles. A full resto is planned, some time in the distant future. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...s/confused.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif

Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
That's one beautiful car. You're a lucky man.
I'm thinking of re-painting my car back to the factory colors(white/blue), but many of the good body/paint shops are scared about the project because of the black underlying the blue stripe and the trickiness of blending elastic into the paint for the endura bumper. |
Re: Most original Ram IV Trans Am?
would anyone sell such a low mileage authentic example of a ra iv trans am?
