1969 Firebird

What is the market like for these cars. Stumbled across a 69, 400, 4 speed car. Atleast that's what it looks like. Should I get a PHS report on the car if I got the vin. Which I did.

Re: 1969 Firebird

From what I've gathered on 68 Firebird 400's, good 68's are in the high teens, to $30K for what appeared (in the pics anyway)to be a top notch car.

I just recently purchased the PHS documents on my 68 400 I had in the mid 70's. It was cool seeing the options on the car that I remember the car having! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

Run the Vin with PHS. Call me at 716-445-8116. I will be glad to give you info on the values of 400 Firebirds.

Re: 1969 Firebird

Depends on which 400, as there were 3. Ram Airs of any stripe are very rare. Does the car have AC?

Sold a very nice #'s matching '68 400 auto car for $23k last fall. Run the PHS, numbers matching car w/4sp would be a nice find. If it's a Ram Air car, run don't walk and buy this car...

Thanks John for your help! However. The wild goose chase is over. PHS told report said it was a 250 std. engine car. One of 33,379 built. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif I think I'll pass. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif

Man...that was fast! .
Sure is nice w/ the PHS documents available...no wonder crooks prefer to fraud the Chevys! .

Anyone know what the true story is w/ the Buick GSX documents...I read online a while back someone had uncovered the shipping paperwork on some or all of these? .

And I'm not confusing the 'story' of the US Chevy documents supposedly becoming available...which I don't think will ever happen! . I'd expect it's a BS story started to scare off some fraud jobs and if there was any truth to it, perhaps documents of a small range of Vins could be found but certainly not anything like PHS or Canadian car services ever becoming available? .

They have a fax back program that gets you the info back in a couple of hours or so.

Found a 69 Ram Air III auto, AC, pwr windows etc. What would the production numbers be on this?

Re: 1969 Firebird

Was the car ordered with the optional Ram Air hood? These are the numbers that I have seen...

'69 Firebird, 400 HO with A/T, 499. 243 were built with Ram Air. Do you have the PHS on the car?

Re: 1969 Firebird

The hood was the same as the std 400 hood, other than it recieved the Ram Air open scoops, air cleaner, pan and other items which were standard on a '69 Judge.

Cool find and a rare car. RAIVs had all this plus a completely different engine.

Re: 1969 Firebird

Car was ordered new; owner was going to get a trans am, but felt the firebird was more appropriately less flashy. Has all its original ram air components. I'll try to eventually get pics posted
