Re: Huggar '69 Chevelle SS 396
This car was delivered just down the street from Yenko Chev. in Canonsburg a mere stones throw. Not a bad looking car. Would want to inspect body as this was a western PA car (aka rust belt). A bunch of things under the hood are incorrect but easily fixed, ie. headers, aluminum intake, open element (shld be single snorkel), missing a-arm skirts, rubber fuel hose from fuel filter to carb (shld be metal), etc. Noticed the window sticker indicates "72-72" but cowl tag indicates "72 B" and the car has a black vinyl roof - earlier on sticker indicates vinyl roof - need to hear from experts as I do not know if this is kosher. Underside looks ok but needs closer inspection as well. I like no PS, no PB. Need to inspect the stampings on drivetrain of course. Good luck - keep us posted.

Re: Huggar '69 Chevelle SS 396
Just occurred to me......window sticker must be a repro. Paint is called "Hugger Orange" on the sticker; if it was real, it would be called "Monaco Orange". Same color & paint code, but it was called Monaco Orange on the Chevelles.
Sam, power disc brakes were standard equipment on all 69 SS cars https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/scholar.gif |

Re: Huggar '69 Chevelle SS 396
Trim Tag is rivetted to the body or is that just some gump?
Looks like a pretty car, love the color. |
Re: Huggar '69 Chevelle SS 396
Sam, The pictures show a power brake booster and the ad says original window sticker and original block with vin # stamped in it. Seems like it going to get expensive.

Re: Huggar '69 Chevelle SS 396
I have seen the car, 69 Super Sport Chevelles are my specialty. It is local and if someone is interested, contact me first.
It is a very nice car, have seen it personally. Mileage appears correct. Missing some correct engine components as previously mentioned, but all those are replaceable. A couple grand could make this car absolutely cherry. Phil Woj. |
Re: Huggar '69 Chevelle SS 396
That whole auction looks hokey to me!! I would be very leary of that car. 1 Tag rivets are suspect,2 Mileage stickers have to be fakes. first of all if they were on the car like they should have been they would have wrinkled up like every othe one ive seen and 2 of them were written by the same person using the same pen 2 years apart https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smirk.gif an whoever striped that car must have been on a jag because look how it goes up and down! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif Whoever bought it in 99 must have told the state they only paid 1000.00 dollars for it because only 70.00 tax was paid. WAS IT THE ROUGH? nice looking car but too many things for me for that kind of money....MERRY CHRISTMAS! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif
