Is this the car for sale at the Connecticut auction?? What is with the deleted posts?? [/ QUOTE ] No it isn't the car at the auction. There was another thread that I removed because the guy did not price the car after being asked. He came to the site asking questions about Motion Vettes then says he has a car that he is going to sell but the only pics he posts are pics scanned from a old magazine like the one above. Once again he can come back and start a new thread but I would caution people to make sure it is a real car. Current pics would go a long way to proving it is not a scam. |
Re: 71 BM Vette
this is not a scam the car is real the car is currently in storage the pics are from over the summer not a magazine i will try to get new pics of the car but these ones were scaned from my computer but...i would like to thank you for your help with trying to put the car on this site

Re: 71 BM Vette
So sorry to hear of your loss and the tragic circumstances necessitating the sale of this car Dale..
Considering the situation, is it possible a new thread can be posted w/ pics again and asking for opinions of what a fair value may be?. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif ~ Pete |
Re: 71 BM Vette
yes, i will begin to work on that this following week

Re: 71 BM Vette
Just a thought from an old timer, pricing a car for sale can also protect the seller from the potential bidding war that results in no sale at all. Time & time again I have seen people jump all over a rare car that "might be for sale" with estimates of what a car like that should bring. An unaware seller gets caught up in the hype, and, goes with the pie in the sky ideas resulting in an asking price that nobody will come close to paying. That fiasco drags on for months, and, even the real potential buyers, someone who will really write a check, lose interest, and, a car that could have been sold quickly at a fair price, takes forever to sell. Now, I will sit back and watch as the estimates roll in on this car. I hope it's real, and, the docs are foolproof. I hope it brings every dollar that is possible. I just don't like the way it has developed, and,in the spirit of full disclosure, I have no interest in buying this car.

Re: 71 BM Vette
Dale, I sent you a PM.
|
Re: 71 BM Vette
Put the car on ebay.
|
Re: 71 BM Vette
i dont like the way it developed either...but i am the deceased owners brother and i came to your site expecting help and instead all you people do is tell me i am a scam... there are plenty of other methods to get word out on this car
|
Re: 71 BM Vette
I saw nobody call you a scam. When minimal information is offered, you have to understand that there will be questions that need to be answered on a high dollar car. This is the site where you can get the most information and help on your car, but, you have to be prepared to offer all the information necessary to support the car's history.

Re: 71 BM Vette
hp2, have you talked to Joel Rosen, owner of Motion Performance, about this car?

Despite the "red flags" of limited information posts I believe we would all serve ourselves well by trying to find and follow the history on this car. I am sure Glenn and others are out in the garage right now looking for the magazines that covered this unique vette. Those who may be interested in purchasing the car but are afraid of a scam (such an ugly word) just keep your check book zipped up tight until more is revealed on the car. Nobody is forcing anyone to jump up with a wad of cash. Nobody will be any less entertained and nobody will be more disapointed than me if we don't have the fresh pictures and history on the car. I would suggest we all take a breath, sit back and let a man who has suffered a great loss present his info at his own pace through his limited internet access. JMHO https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gifAs usual, those with the negative replies please use my fax # 1.800.NO4.NJNK https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif |
Re: 71 BM Vette
Well said Chris.

Re: 71 BM Vette
I believe this is the car in question. Originaly Gold w/Black stripe. I also believe it's the only 71 Phase III GT and last Phase III GT Motion built.

Re: 71 BM Vette
thanks for putting these pictures up...I have the same pictures. I do believe this is the car and I have a picture of the car before it was painted. I believe my brother was in contact with Joel Rosen before he passed away. Thanks again for your help.

Ed thanks for digging that out and posting. I would like to guess that paint it wears now goes back to at least 73 or 74. I remember it was a cover car also with the current paint scheme, have you any of those color shots? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif |
Re: 71 BM Vette
In response to the authenticity of this car i can verify that it is indeed a real Baldwin motion corvette and unfortunatley it will soon have a new owner. I can also tell you that HP2 is a sraight shooter and everything he is telling you guys is for real. I know this because i have been a good friend of the family for many years and worked with the deceased owner on researching this car. This car is probably one of the most documented low mileage BM vettes that exists including the original bill of sale and build sheet. From the research we have done we believe it is the same car used in the BM advertisements and possibly the only 71 built. I have many pictures of this car that i will try and post in the near future.

Re: 71 BM Vette
Looking forward to seeing the pictures; I love the Motion Corvettes. It's a shame the current owner can't hang onto it.

You can clearly see the original GT 454 emblem in this shot!

Here is a shot of the interior. This is before any cleaning was done. The car has twenty thousand documented original miles and the interior reflected this after cleaning. In this picture you can see the guages and Hone overdrive lever next to the transmission tunnel that were added by motion performance.

Re: 71 BM Vette
Dale,
I sent an email to you on this site when you first posted, and Ive also put out a couple of post on my interest along with my phone number. I am a real buyer and would give a fair price, but like others the longer it takes the less interest a real buyer has (just advise).. Definately a cool car with a ton of potenial. When you get a price figured out give me a call. Thanks Andy 507-208-0191 |
