Re: 63 Impala Z11
Good Luck in your search!! My all time favorite Big Car!!!
Only 57 Z-11 optioned Impala's were produced and only 7 are thought to be in existance today, making them an extremely rare and valuable piece of Chevrolet history. http://www.348-409.com/z11.html http://www.hanksz11page.com/mrwilson.jpg http://image.superchevy.com/f/913186..._left_view.jpg |
Re: 63 Impala Z11
Chris,
The data indicates only 50 were factory built. More than 7 are known to exist today. I don't know of any that are for sale though. Verne |
Re: 63 Impala Z11
In the one photo there is a little hood scoop, in the other there is not. Wasn't there one of these at the Yenko Reunion a few years ago? They have the aluminum front fenders and hood, correct? Who's car was that? I may be wrong but I am pretty sure there was one there.

Re: 63 Impala Z11
Sammy, That was the car that was at the Reunion a few years ago. It belongs to Hank Gabbert. He restored it without the hood scoop. It's the sister car to Ronnie Sox' car and was mostly match raced.

Re: 63 Impala Z11
Rich,
If you were willing to consider a '62 aluminum car, the Zintmaster car is for sale through Fraser Dante in Ga. This car is one of 18-20 (no one really knows for sure) Factory built B/FX '62 Super Sports. The car currently has a Z-11 top half on it (which is incorrect as they were all std 409hp). Although a lot more rare than a '63 Z-11, they weren't as complete of a race car package as a Z-11. The Zintmaster car is incredibly original (other than the top half) as it wasn't raced very much at all. It's priced at $275K. which is what you'd pay for a non-original (but authentic) Z-11. It may very well be the rarest and most valuable '62 on the planet, other than the Strickler '62 Belair. Just thought I'd mention it for your consideration.
