DC Goldspark distributors

I have one of these for a Chevy. This is supposed to be a division of Mr. Gasket. Anyone know anything about these???

A decent distributor but rare even back in the day. Finding cap, rotor, pints etc will be like finding hens teeth

I used 1 till about early 90,s in my S/G Vega with a 287” hemi 4 speed , it easily went to 9,600 rpm with no point bounce , they were pretty trick in the late 70,s, they have a ball brg upper support and you can phase the upper housing by loosening 3 Allen bolts. They also have a tach drive spud that I used with a a Moroso cable drive tach.
I think they use Chrysler type points and cap/rotor, any auto parts store should be able to match them up, Standard ignition products line or blue streak.

FWIW They were sold by Mr Gasket but I think were built by DC ignition out of Ca.

Thanks guys. I bought it as I did see one years ago and thought it was pretty cool. So price was right, so what the hell, why not right. It did come with a bunch of NOS Accel stuff, like 2 of everything, caps, points, condenser, so I do have that going for me that I could cross-reference those numbers to newer stuff.

Was talking to Petronix and they don't know the distributor at all? They want me to ship it to them so they can either find a existing set-up, or make a new one for it. Just would like the looks of it with an old school themed car.

About 1990 I was at the Seafair Nationals in Seattle, racing the National Event. My Vega had a miss so I took the gold spark dist over to the MSD tent to have it spun on their distributor machine, they were all very fascinated with it! They really freaked out when they discovered it was in a S/G car, and the fact I had 7mm wires and just a coil with no msd box or anything.
Then I told them that I paid $22 for it in 1974 when I worked at JB,s automotive in Calgary AB. Turned out the old Holley coil I had gave up the ghost. Still have the Gold Spark BTW.

Here is a picture of Mike's Gold Spark and a picture of his old S/G Vega that he ran it in back in the 80's/90's. After Mike saw that I bought a Mallory Rev-Pol, I walked into his shop and he handed me the Gold Spark. I said why didn't you tell me you had this before I bought the Mallory. (bahaha)
