Picture Posting tutorial...

Apologies to the owners of the cars featured below...in the tutorial https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ouguysrock.gif

Here goes!

First you'll need to go to this website Easy Thumbs software and download the FREE program. It's small and won't take up that much space on your hard drive.

Once you install the software you can 'tab' to a screen that looks like this:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/.../ezthumbs1.jpg

Make sure that you change the default setting to 600, 600 or 800, 800 for bigger pictures, as in the circled areas. Also set your jpeg output quality to 80 or less...that normally keeps the file size manageable

You will then need to 'tab' to the 'preview output' page
and set up where you'd like to "store" the resized photos...as shown here. I normally save to the desktop for ease of finding them.

You can do one picture at a time, or a bunch. The program is really fast! (make..or make all)

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/.../ezthumbs2.jpg

You'll then need to sign up here: Photobucket

The initial screen looks like this:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...otobucket1.jpg

The sign up page looks like this:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...otobucket2.jpg

Once you sign up, you'll come to this page:

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...otobucket3.jpg

You can load one picture at a time, or as many as 19 pictures at once!(listed as submit multiple pictures)

Once the pictures are uploaded, all you have to do is 'right click' as shown in the photo below and select 'copy'. Then make your post on Yenko.net and wherever you want the picture...skip a line and then hit paste!

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y9/...otobucket4.jpg

That's all there is to it...and that concludes the tutorial for now. PM me if you have any questions

Bruce

Bruce,
You've proven yourself again. I can't imagine the effort you put into that presentation. Hats off to you. I have also found the easythumbnails software to be of help. Althought I'm still having trouble navigating everything to get a good picture to post.
Let's try one.
Thanks

Re: Picture Posting tutorial...

Verne...Good deal! You just need to make the picture 600x600 or 800x800. That will make the picture viewable without scrolling off the edge of the screen! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Check out the picture below to see what I mean. Other than that, I think that you've got it! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/wink.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif

600 pixels wide is as wide as you want the pictures, or else it screws up the forum page and folks will have to scroll...everything else looks good though!

Re: Picture Posting tutorial... test

Sorry I screwed up the thread with my picture. You can delete it if you want to.
I haven't signed up with photobucket, nor do I have my own web address at all.
A friend has placed a bunch of my photos on his site that I can copy as attachments here,
but I don't have editting access to create the thumbnail on his site.
Guess I better get busy with Photobucket. Thanks again Bruce. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Picture Posting tutorial... test

OK, I did the Photobucket thing. Let's see if I got this right.. I scanned it, then created the thumbnail, then uploaded it into my Photobucket account.
Was that the right way Bruce?

Verne,Are those wheels on your first picture Radir's?How much are they worth if a person was to buy a pair? There is a set on a trailer frame in my town that I might have to see if they want to get rid of. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif Xplantdad (Bruce) is the master of picture uploading. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gifHe even taught me how to do it.Proof that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Re: Picture Posting tutorial... test

We've discussed those wheels a couple times before on this site. Those are Mickey Thompson Challengers, 1965. I have a hunch he bought a mold from Rader and modified it to add the two outter ribs on each spoke (original Raders had only the center rib). They've gained popularity over the years and can demand high prices. An NOS set sold for over $850. last year. Don't buy any thaty have problems with the chrome. That's the key. Buy good chrome. The aluminum is just a matter of elbow time.

Hey, I just noticed the Tilton picture is missing. What happened??? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Actually no I do not need it. Not yet anyway though I am working on something that would need it. Thanks for asking.

One more question Bruce:
I noticed in your tutorial you chose the address for the "Img" in Photobucket. I've been using the top one, labelled "Url" and it seems to be working fine. Is there any difference between the two? Advantages or disadvantages of one over the other??

Thanks
Verne................... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Picture Posting tutorial... test

Verne...URL stands for Uniform Resourse Locator...which is just another way of saying a world wide web (www) address...

An IMG file is an image file.

Normally you'd use the TAG choice if you were building or adding to a website.

Here are the three choices:

URL
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_DSCF2089.jpg

TAG
<img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b156/lotsayenkopics/tn_DSCF2089.jpg">

IMG
IMG]http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b156/lotsayenkopics/tn_DSCF2089.jpg[/IMG]

I left the first [ bracket off of the IMG file so that you can see what it looks like. If I put it back on then this happens

http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...n_DSCF2089.jpg

Verne, in order for you to make the URL choice work, you have to be adding the in front of and at the end of the url...otherwise it just gives you a clickable link to view the picture. When you choose the IMG selection...the are already there...that's the only difference between the two.

Does any of this make sense? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Bruce, if the pic is deleted from photobucket, it will no long appear here, but an "expired" icon will be in the pictures' place. fwiw

Too big.
1000x1000 just goes off the page. Use 800x800
At least that's been my experience.
