I heard a rumor of one in the Centralia, KS area years back. I spent quite a bit of time looking for it, but could never find it.

AFAIK, there are no restored ones out there. I heard that a very rough one had been found in field a while back, but I don't have any details.

Yeah, I've visited those sites on numerous occasions, but thanks 442W30! Old5.0, any idea what the 4 Ranchero's were born with driveline wise? Its amazing how little information is on these few vehicles. I hope one turns up someday.

They were all 4v Clevelands, I think. No idea on transmission or rear end.

I've never heard much about them, really. Like I mentioned, I looked for the one that rumored to exist somewhere around Centralia, but if one had actually been in that area at some point, it wasn't there anymore. Maybe sold, maybe parted and crushed, I don't know.

I did hear about a supposed Twister Ranchero in junkyard south of Abilene, KS., but a buddy of mine ran that car down and it turned out not to be a Twister. It was a factory 429 CJ, 4 speed shaker car, though, so it was worth the effort it took to track it down and get it bought.

I began searching for these cars over 8 years ago. After hundreds of hours I'm proud to announce one of them has been found. My book, "Lost Muscle Cars" broke the perception that these were 4 351 equipped cars. In fact, there were only 2, and they were 429 SCJ cars.

After exhausting all resources to find the cars I decided to make the info on them public. One of my book buyers used that information to search for and find one of the two long lost Twister Rancheros. This is what the hobby is all about.
