Member Going Above & Beyond

There are many members who go above and beyond contributing to the sites content & help our members. I would like to highlight a particular member Carnut4life(how appropriate). Chad PM'd me last month and asked if I'd be interested in him posting some Vintage car articles. I immediately responded heck yes!!! Well over the last month he had uploaded 50 plus article, many of which have never been seen before. These articles provide a treasure trove of firsthand account and information that had been lost but now found thanks to his efforts.

The great aspect of websites such as this, is the ability to search, so please take advantage of the vast materials. Social media has its place, but websites have the inherent advantage to easily search in an organized manner.

A big thanks to Chad for his efforts. Trust me it is labor intensive posting those articles....

Timely post Steve. I've actually been PM-ing with Chad the past couple days expressing my thanks for doing just that. Thanks Chad!
I've got nearly a complete set of Hi-Performance Cars Magazine from 65-72 myself, and about a month back started reading through them starting at the beginning.
It's just like stepping back in time when we all used to look forward to getting the car mags once a month.

"Well how about that- looks like Chrysler will be offering a new 426 street hemi this year for $907- wonder how those will go..."

Met Chad 2015 when he purchased a long-dormant 'Day 2' Dale Chev COPO Camaro. Traveled to Beacon IA to meet him and check it out. Was able to arrange a meeting with the original owners here in WI. Chad trailered it to MCACN a few years later where it was one of the stars of the Barn Finds display.

Great guy; loves the cars!

Geez Chad, you just keep them coming :eek2:!! Are you foregoing work and sleep to make this happen??

The Chevy thread alone is an overload of my teenage automotive dreams :beers: - Bill W

Thanks for all the kind words guys, I really appreciate it! Reading these old articles takes me back in time and makes me wish I would have been born 20 years earlier so I could have been part of the original muscle car era. Hopefully posting them will ignite a fire in somebody else so they can enjoy the old car hobby as much as I do.

I've got several thousand old magazines but most are from the 80's and up from when I started seriously getting into cars when I was around 13. I'll post a few of those articles later but these original articles from back in the day are my favorite, especially the ones on dealer supercars from Baldwin Motion and Royal Pontiac. I'll post several more over the next few weeks as I'm getting close to finishing up the Hi Performance Cars articles through 1974 and it's easier to do a whole bunch at once instead of one at a time.

I wish the quality of the pics was a little better but I can't really tell how they turn out until I upload them from my phone and see them on my computer screen. Scanning them from my printer would be best but that would take years to do what I've done in a few weeks with my phone. I'm glad you guys enjoy the articles, I'll keep posting them until I run out of original material from back in the day. Chad
