'69 Corvette, #s 350/350, Dual Disc Clutch

Nice looking car - how odd that it was ordered with the MA6 dual disc clutch. I guess I didn't realize this RPO would have been available with a small block engine.

----You are correct, Tony! I'd like to see some paper to prove the dual disc clutch. Not saying it isn't possible, just never seen a small block with that option. Minor stuff incorrect all over the place but it appears to be a pretty nice ride. Love the broach marks! If interested just do your do diligence.....Bill S

Clutch info ????:hmmm:

Even if it came with the dual disc clutch, I doubt it still has it. Ad says "new clutch".

This is an August car. I have an HW engine out of an October car. I notice this one has the partial vin. My engine does not.

The dual disc clutch was only available with the L71 435 horse motor in 1969. It even carried a dedicated assembly stamp on the engine. This car didn't come with this option.

The dual disc clutch was only used for 1969 L-71 with the MA-6 dual disc clutch option. It consisted of a special 14" flywheel, special pressure plate assembly with a special "secondary" plate, as well as two special 10" OD friction discs. Since engine assemblies were fitted with clutch assemblies at the engine plants, there had to be a particular suffix code for L-71 engines equipped with the dual disc clutch for 1969.

My 69 corvette L71 was ordered and came with the MA6 option. Howard Key in Texas now owns the car. The original owner told me all his friends were racing 67 435 HP corvettes and having problems with their clutches and they told him when he went to order the 427/435 HP monster in 1969 to get it with the heavy duty clutch option and he did.

Howards has a cool tank sticker to back up that very rare option. I've seen the car many times.

I have the MA6 pressure plate NOS from the Jenkins collection

So weird the L88 Corvettes didn't come with the MA6 set up.
