Unless things have changed, Ontario Vanity plate can NOT change owners or be sold.

So when you sold your 1970 Nova L78, say the new owner WANTED that plate! He could buy it off you for display purposes, but he can't have the car registered with the plate he bought off you.

I know my 1961 YEAR OF MANUFACTURE PLATE now stays registered to me forever? I sold that car in 2018 and still had like 3/4's of the year left on the "sticker". I inquired about the balance on that "sticker" with the ministry. They said I could transfer it, but it also meant LOSING the plates even though I own them. Also said that 1961 plate number stays with me now forever as the province doesn't reissue plate number or sayings.

I wouldn't put that on ANY of my cars? Of the 3 I have, the lowest performance Hp is 575Hp 427 that runs mid 10's. Combo of cops and insurance would look at that in a different light if that comes around. ALSO the fact that most modern performance cars will outrun most muscle cars from back-in-the-day.....

Hell my 78 yr old mothers car (Audi TT roadster) will wax 99.9% of the muscle cars with the 12.8's I got it to run. She even DROVE it from Ontario Canada to Mesa Arizona BOTH ways in 2017....

I wanted UNREAL (double entendre) for my Yenko Tribute, but last time I checked, it was already in use. I have an NOS 69 Tennessee Dealer tag, and I was going to register that number for my tag. Then run the 69 tag on the car, with the properly registered tag in the trunk, in case I got pulled over. But I never got around to it.

A personalized licence plate can be transferred only once to anyone before it is attached to a vehicle. You can purchase a gift certificate for a personalised licence plate at a ServiceOntario centre.

Ziggy, so a personal plate can only be transferred one time BEFORE it is registered to a car? So once it's registered to one car, it can not be transferred????

Is that right?
