Scr23
Though we won’t have the dates set for SCR23 for a while, the event will be around the same time as in the past, late July, utilizing the same venues, Beech Bend Raceway Park and the National Corvette Museum.
Something new for SCR23, will be a special display or two. The Corvette Museum has graciously agreed to allow us to park a few cars in the main corridor of the museum. This will allow us room for more cars without crowding the main hall. Being the 50th anniversary of the 1970 Yenko Deuce (and COPO Novas) we are inviting all owners of these cars to attend SCR23. As we did several years ago, would be really cool to get one of every color. For easy access to our Facebook page and update coverage of the SCR go to www.supercarreunion.com |
That’s great Tom..The area that we are getting is outside in the Boulevard area it is still inside the building and it runs from the Corvette café down to the Corvette Museum the logistics tells us it holds roughly 20 cars we would love to have a display of two different models of cars 10 on each side of the aisle they are nice enough to give us this area and they are going to remove the Corvettes that are being delivered and are on display it should be exciting I would love to see The area that we are getting is outside in the boulevard area it is still inside the building and it runs from the Corvette café down to the Corvette Museum the logistics tells us it holds roughly 20 cars we would love to have a display of two different models of cars 10 on each side of the aisle they are nice enough to give us this area and they are going to remove the Corvettes that are being delivered and are on display it should be exciting I would love to see all 10 colors of the Yenko Deuce cars

Tom/Doug, please correct me if I'm wrong but as I understand it, we're hoping for July 23, 24 & 25. We have tentatively reserved TWO weekends at the Corvette Museum while we await a confirmed date with Beech Bend Raceway. Doug has also received a note from the host hotel, the Holiday Inn University Plaza, so it appears things are headed in the right direction for another great weekend.
As Tom and Doug stated above, the National Corvette Museum has offered to expand the area inside to allow us to host even more cars inside the building. The Boulevard area puts us dead center in the main traffic area for maximum exposure to hundreds of people, and leads them directly to the banquet room where we've been for the past few years. We'll also still have the covered outdoor area around the banquet room as in the past. Bowling Green is a great town, full of car-crazy folks and they've all been great to work with. It appears the SCR has found a long-term home and I couldn't be happier. SCR 23, ..... here we come! |
I can't wait! I've been trying to round up some more cars to attend. I know of several that would fit right in the muscle car class, but I have to convince the owners to show up. '66 Chevelle SS396 all original drive train, '67 Corvette 427 435HP, '69 Corvette 427 390 HP, 426 Hemi Super Bee and some more. I'm making some more changes to mine over the winter and it should be into the 10s this time.

Dennis ...that is correct. We have 2 dates reserved and they are the last 2 weekends in July...when we confirm with the race track then we will choose the date. And we already have our first commitment...A red Deuce coming from New York !!!!

Great

Is this event open to “Junior Supercars” ??
I see some heavy hitters every year. Ryan W31 |
Ryan, they let me in. I'm sure they would let you in too.
|
Great news! Just when I thought this event couldn’t get any better. You guys add a Deuce gathering to top it off! I’m already looking forward to it!

This is already shaping up to be a great show. Tom, Doug and the rest of the SCR team have graciously allowed me to cook again for the Thursday night meet n greet. But please don't come for the food. Thursday night is a great time to sit around and meet the people that make this hobby what it is.. the menu will be released once the dates are locked in. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
|
Great! You were missed this year.

Just six more colors to go. In addition, Rob will be there in the Yellow sub defending his Supercar racing Crown, and Drew will be piloting his own Yenko for SCR23. |

When the event was in Joliet for a couple of years my lowly Malibu 400 was welcomed with open arms and I had fun participating. Great event and even greater people. I need to get down there one of these years. |
Hmmm....would a Crusty Cuda be welcomed??:hmmm: Can Mopars come to this event since we’d steal all the thunder from everyone? Do any of you people like Mopar people even though we like you GM people?? Is this too many questions to ask this early in the morning without another cup of coffee?!?!:dunno:
This event intrigues me:scholar:. Where’s my magnifying glass emoji at?!? Page two!! goggles. That’s what I needed!!! Cheers:beers: Dave |
Mopars more than welcome, but I got to warn you, watch out for that pesky Corvair. LOL

Dave....I love Mopars....I put my Hemi Cuda down the track last year and made a few passes. It’s a great time with awesome people and a blast to go down the track. Don’t let Ken fool you... that little rambler was a beast !!! Ran in the 8’s.
|
Dave, it would be great to see you at the SCR.
|
Dang it. If Dave is gonna come all the way from the Lone Star then I gotta make the 1hr drive up.. Might even bring a car.... Maybe..:hmmm:
|
Let’s go RGR
|
Thanks guys! Welp...I’m a gonna have to do this now.:cool2: The motto for this year’s venue will be “Rollin’ with Rust”.:hmmm:
It’ll be a good summer excursion! Doug, sending you a message.... Cheers:beers: Dave |
Dave, I'm planning on attending also..
Rich |
Rusty Rollin.
|
That's the spirit, Doug! :hmmm: See you there, Rich. I think it'll be fun! A chance to meet more members and see some great cars for sure! A perfect opportunity to get some more quality calendar photos!
Cheers Dave |
Be careful Dave, it's addictive!
|
That’s true...Freddie will be in the 10’s this year
|
My racing budget is gonna make it rain this year!!!
https://media1.tenor.com/images/3e6e...itemid=6041827 |
Darrell...$2,000 per tenth ...or Spray it. Lol
|
I haven’t got past machine work yet.. But that’s being worked on. Gotta order a cam, lifters, shaft mounted rockers, etc etc... :dunno: Might be ready SCR25..
|
I am looking forward to being a competitor this coming year. That is my goal. Gotta beat Cook! It will be the classic showdown Cook’s mouse against my rat “Ratty Rat”! Hope he is up to it? It will be the most old looking, old school showdown! My tetanus shot is up to date!
|
Then the winner of that showdown will face "Super Dave" in the Crusty Cuda!
Three Hundred and forty cubic inches of American horsepower that will leave all contenders in the dust! And by dust I literally mean it since I'll look like the old Mineke Muffler commercials where they have the car running down the road with the muffler and tailpipe falling out of the back of it! Or was that Midas mufflers commercials? :hmmm: And if you manage to steer around that automotive obstacle course, you'll be be blinded by the dust from the rust pieces falling off the quarters that I never fixed!:hmmm::cool2: Bring it!!:3gears::3gears::3gears: Cheers:beers: Dave |

I'll be in the 15s..... LOL Rich |
Excellent! I’ll have some competition Rich!
Cheers:beers: Dave |
