Does anybody rebuild & restore expansion & POA valves for my 1969 Camaro? Thank you, Joe

Planning to get the one on my El Camino done as well. Really struggling between leaving it stock and having it modifed for R134.
No personal experience with these guys, but was contemplating sending mine to them: https://www.originalair.com/restoration-gm-poa-valves |
Had one done back in 2018 ('70 442 POA valve) by Original Air and I know a number of other Olds owners that have used them for the conversion. Conversion/rebuild cost for the POA valve at that time was $235 (+ shipping) and there were some other small parts in addition(adapters, etc) that were not included in the $235 cost.
It was installed and then taken off as the guy's system had some other problem so I'm not at all "faulting" Old Air. I know folks that have running/working systems with their conversion valve. I wasn't impressed with the plating job but then again what do you expect with clear zinc plating.....you look at it wrong and it starts looking bad. Again, not faulting their work as far as function....I'd use them again if I was converting a system. |
