Agreed -

Impressive to me that even though the crowd rushed the course that it did not escalate into something worse or more out of control given all of the accepted chaos in the world today. Says a lot about the people attending the event.

We've been attending PGA events all over the place for about 10 years now as our son is a golfer and admirer of Phil's (he's a lefty too). They are some of the most organized and well run professional sporting events we have been to. Congrats to Phil on a great win.

I think the fact that people were able to get out en mass, it was nice weather, and for some, a full day of alcohol consumption late into the afternoon were all contributing factors, PGA/USGA will get a handle on it for sure

Agree, it was a fun tournament to watch and nice to see an "old guy" and a lefty win a major. Phil has a bit of a mixed reputation on the tour and some love him and some hate him, but overall I think it was great for the sport. Golf fans normally show restraint and etiquette more than most sports, but what happened at 18 was poor planning on the part of PGA and tournament organizers. I'm sure they won't allow that to happen again.

I got to play the Ocean Course at Kiawah years back and it's quite a challenge and a beautiful setting. I can't imagine playing on the course as it was set up for the tournament.

Most people don't realize just how much more difficult the course set up is for a major pro tournament. Not just the increased length, but the PGA pays special attention to the grass length in the fairway, rough, greens and of course the pin placement is normally quite challenging. Sometimes they even add more bunkers to the course just for the tournament.

The pro golfers are amazingly talented at their craft.

I've worked crowd control @ a few Golf events here like The Western Open @ Butler C.C.,and The U.S.Open @ Medinah C.C.
It's all about orchestrating the crowd, and thinning the Herd by sectioning & synchronizing and most importanlty,COMMUNICATION among staff.
If one of those details are over looked, you're done.
