Day 2, where to get....

Had a bunch of buddies over this weekend. The topic turned to Day 2. So had to dig out some stuff for show and tell. Then topic turned to never seen before and these DD bars came up. Nobody in the group had seen them. So on to google we went.

Anybody have a source for the snubbers and hardware for these Drag Dimensions bars? The bars are nos but very old and lost the hardware sometime ago.

Thanks for any leads or dimensions/pics

Nice collection of day two items.
I'm sorry I can't help with the snubbers, but I do have a question about the Lakewood bars for GM coli spring cars.
I have a set, by any chance do you have the hardware or installation instructions for the bars?

Thanks
Bernhard

Check with Al Corporon aka AlsV8vair as his brother (I think) worked at the Drag Dimensions factory. You may be able to put the pieces together yourself. Here are a couple shots of my DD traction bars that were bought by the OO for his ‘70 sYc Nova.

Lakewood still makes the black snubbers # 20530, although not anatomically correct for the square bar Lakewood’s.

Here are a couple shots installed on a ‘70 Nova. Traction bar perches were modified (cut) by OO to fit this car.

Bernhard, Yes the coil spring bars do have the instructions and hardware. I can post up some pics when I get a chance.

Sam, Those are some great pictures! That helps a lot. There is not a lot of info on these bars. I am assuming the snubber has a slot in it for the retaining bar? It looks like it would be pretty easy to make, if you could find the rubber.

rszmjt, The square tube bars were never on a car. You can see the part number imbedded in the paint on one. Its pretty hard to read but the part number is 3996323 (GM a body axle snubber)

Yes as I recall the snubber has a slot to retain it with the cross bar piece.

A couple more photos (including shots of the great DD decals that I bought from Al Corporon, aka AlsV8vair) and a DD catalog for general info...

Hey Graeme - very fond of this former mount (now in the Brothers collection). Schonye and company of Donahue, IA did the beautiful restoration. 1 of 7 delivered new at Canonsburg and OO bought all speed parts seen in photos (including his original McCrearys!) at my Papa's auto parts store in Indiana PA (McCrearys HQ). This one hit close to home!
