Does anyone know the date of the trans and block/dated components??

Im not good at reading and comprehending long articles , but how can these two statements in hotrod magazine article mesh???

1] The little that’s known about the car’s history comes from Tyler. As he wrote in the listing, “I found the car in a small city close to Indy where a retired Air Force pilot had bought it while he was in the service. When we found the car it was apart and a roller, but it came with all the important stuff (original block with the broach marks, transmission, rearend with the factory square traction bar, and very nice original door panels).

2] In 2008 he spotted an online ad for a L78 short-block that was for sale in Seminole, Oklahoma. A year or so later, he was able to “marry” that block with its original pace car home by selling it to Tyler. How the car and engine were separated is one of the mysteries that Dan has yet to unravel.

Going by what you posted King...I see your point on how the car came with the original

trans, rear, and block. And later in 2008 he found the original block in Oklahoma and married

them together?

So...did he get the block with the car, OR, found it later in 08? I don't know when the car was

found [YEAR} so was it before 08?

Sounds like he had a stamper block then found the original?

In this article,it shows the guy in Seminole Ok [have to assume its the block that was found since this guy is asking about its value and is located in the same town and state ] has a block with a TO5O3MQ https://www.chevelles.com/forums/60-...ock-heads.html

And in the post on pacesetter where they are discussing the car,it has a TO417MQ. http://camaropacecars.com/eve/forums...5681088166/p/3

Magazine articles are never really perfect, but doesnt it say the new owner spent all types of effort going to see the car and inspecting it for 2 1/2 days ,only to find out after he bought it that someone found the supposed motor and "married" it to the car, hence the reason the owner was searching for a motor for the car here on syc in 2008 .
Lastly the ebay ad says it was found as a roller as per the hotrod magazine article. In pacesetters, the person advertising it for the seller says it was never a roller, wrong car. And CRG member says it was a roller with no trans or motor in the article.
