Steven Juliano MEMORABILIA Collection

Some of you know that I was recently asked by Dana Mecum and Stevens daughter to assist with the Memorabilia portion of Stevens incredible collection. I just returned after spending the better part of the week, 12-14 hours per day going through it. It was truly an honor and a privilege, but man, my bones and my brain are aching!

ALL of the contents will be offered at Dana Mecums Spring Classic in Indy in May, in a combination of onsite and online lots. I can say that if you see it in the pictures that Charley showed in his posts elsewhere on this site, it will be available.

I set up over 1,000 individual lots of "smalls", 160+ race jackets and a number of larger display items. There are also NOS tires, tire displays and as you can imagine, far more than I can list here.

Many of the larger items are shown on the Mecum site now, with much more being added. It will take at least a week to add the small items, and a considerable amount of additional large items.

I had the honor of getting a personal tour from Steven several times, and even spent some time with Steven in "the attic" and I can tell you, there is far more that had not seen the light of day for many years, along with additional items he had in his NY home that will be offered.

A majority is of course, Mopar, Rapid Transit System, Scat Pack, Ford Performance and Cobra related, but there is also a lot of Hurst items and some random Chevy, Buick and other period items.

If there is one "takeaway" it is that there quite simply is no "burn pile" that is the norm with any large quantity collection. There will be plenty of affordable items and lots, but I can tell you, the quality and the quantity is absolutely staggering. Of course, there is not one single reproduction item, whether big or small.

If you have any interest in this type of stuff, DO NOT MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY! The family has no interest in multiple auctions or dragging it out, so the likelihood of another auction is, well...unlikely assuming that all of the items can be categorized in time.

All of the items are being offered with NO RESERVE and the Mecum team is also implementing a brand new online bidding system that will be launched with this collection.

I can not stress it enough...this truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a collection of this magnitude being offered all at one time is unheard of. Do Not Miss it! If you are unable to attend in person, register to bid online. There is no charge to sign up to bid on Road Art..

Check the Mecum Auction site on a regular basis for updates, as they are working every day to get it all online. Trust me...it is going to take a while to get it all up there!

Thanks;

Bashton

So that everyone knows, this is just the beginning for the memorabilia lots.

There will be literally over 1,000 more lots added over the next week or so.

There will also be revisions to some of the items that are shown, like the Ford rack that was packed with the Dodge and Plymouth Data and Color and trim books. If you see something that is an obvious mismatch, it will be corrected.

Seriously...what is on the website now is just the beginning of what will be offered.

Steven probably had the largest collection of the printed Mopar stuff in the world. If you want to have the largest collection just buy all of this. I'm sure he had more than Chrysler has.

Be a fit for the Mopar wing at the Brothers Collection? (or would it fit?!)
