DR1114434 solenoid bench test

1 Attachment(s)
Has anyone tried to bench test one of these DR1114434 solenoids? I put 12V to it and the solenoid actuates/clicks. With vacuum on the port by the contacts, air moves though the 90 degree port, when you apply 12V, the solenoid actuates and cuts off the air flow.
The port that comes straight out doesn't have any air flow. I found there is a spring loaded plunger in that port. With vacuum on the contact side port and air moving though the 90 degree port, I can push in the plunger and it shuts off the air flow(no 12v applied).
I hope this makes sense. Can anyone tell me if this sounds like a normal operation for this solenoid?
I plan on selling this but wanted to make sure it was working before I sold it. Thanks, Mark

Mark.

Good tech info to report. Sure some of our gurus will chime in. Thanks for posting your findings.

Sounds good to me the way you tested the unit but unfortunatly that is the TCS Solenoid that comes in many of the NOS GM boxes over the counter as I can see the spade design is double notched to hold the wire were Assembly line solenoids had solid spades with a tiny spot weld on the wire.
