Re: Mecum Kansas City 2011
I'll be watching their headliner poster car (red 65 corvette L78 convert). If that sells well, then its gives me an idea of what to sell my otis chandler car that is like that one.
Finally my wife will watch on of these auctions with me (only when it is time to sell) fingers are crossed...hoping prices are decent. |
Re: Mecum Kansas City 2011
Over 500 cars ran across the block this past weekend.
A strong % were sold on the block. The Mecum Bid goes on team is still putting some final deals together. The Red 1965 L78 Convertible was bid to $175,000.00 on the block if I remember right. It did not sell across the block. The "Bid Goes On" department did sell the car soon after! |
Re: Mecum Kansas City 2011
yeah, the red L78 vette survivor went for $188K outside of the auction. My wife and I were thinking the auction house ran up the bid and really did not know if those were real bids during the auction.
But with it selling outside the auction for that much, I feel pretty good about rare big block vette prices hanging in there. Good bargains at that auction. |
Re: Mecum Kansas City 2011
That is a very special Corvette. It took a Mecum Auction to fetch that price.
