AOR 8" Timing Cover Identification ?
2 Attachment(s)
I am Currently correcting parts on a clients 1970 LS6 454.
For the AOR 8" Timing Cover I have seen only Dated or Undated smooth covers with the angled cut AOR Timing Tab. This current one stumps me as it is on a LS6 motor but it has these natural dented in dimples every few inches along the top but the timing tab is the same as the above mentioned. Any Idea if this is correct being another style they used or just from another application? Let Me know your Thoughts. |
I'm sure you know, but A0R is just Advance, Zero, Retard.
Would pics of my cover from my SS396 help for comparison? It's from late August 69 which is a 70 model "C" 396/402. It doesn't have the dimples or the angle cut. |

No need for a photo from the 402/396 Timing Cover which are for a 7" Damper and have a square cut AOR timing tab so they are a hole different set up. I also own and have owned a few SS 396 70 Chevelle's. Just trying to figure out were this 8" Timing cover comes from. |

This is the one I see Often on LS6's with no date stamp on the right center bar. Many also have a date stamp with the numbered Week then Year.
As you can see the AOR tab is the same and even the style but it is smooth on the top without those indents on the top. |
