Yep, the name is somewhat awkward but both cars look pretty serious for their day.
Again, can't help but wonder if this John Capps may be the father of NHRA's Ron and Jon Capps...if so, the Camaro is even cooler w/ such a history also great to know it exists today!

Different name or not, that is one beautiful '68, and I love that period paint job.

Yup I sure hope if it got redone it got redone as the race car. Though I doubt it.

I get people telling me all the time to
Restore my RAIV cstocker bird to day 1 , IMO day 1is when the dealer sold it and that was as raced! For my car.

Time and time again I post polls, as to which way people would prefer to see these cars and as raced is at least 4 times more popular. Yet they continue to be redone stock. And every restoration shop you talk to will pretty much tell you this is how you should do it . History is being lost to a sea of STOCK cars there’s very little representation of what these cars were really about, which makes them
Boring when stock is all there is left.
Period correct as raced cars are the history of this time period.

Originally so many had been altered , it was rare to find one stock. So that’s what people sought out as rare . Now it’s rare to find one still in period correct race trim.

There’s a beautiful camaro for sale in Essex CT from
This site it’s very nice stock, but I’d have much rather seen it stay in its beautiful red white and blue race trim. (Which incidentally seems like a great car at a a great price) I’m not saying cars w no history necessarily should be restored that way but many with known race history aren’t being Restored that way.
