I assume some of you folks are students of the history of firearms and have heard of John Moses Browning. Browning is considered by many to be the greatest firearms designer ever. His legacy of famous rifles, shotguns and handguns is really the history of our country in both peace time and during war.
I just finished a fantastic book about him, written by Nathan Gorenstein...it is a great read and very well writen. So if you are a fan of the 1911, BAR, Model 94 and other famous firearms, I suggest you check out this book. https://www.amazon.com/Guns-John-Mos.../dp/1982129212 -wilma |
My favorite two class 3 guns to shoot is the real fast bolt MG 42-- and the ole Browning "Ma Duce". All heads whirl around to the rapid "thunk-tuink-thunk-thunk" OF THE BIG .50 Caliber.
The explosions in the car are caused by placement of Tannerite within the car. All made possible by the good folks at Ohio Ordnance works! For the summary of how the Ma Duce rules the range-fast forward to 6:00 minutes in. |

How good is the big 50?
In 1967 Gunny Carlos Hathcock set the record for the longest sniper kill. He used a M2 .50 Cal Browning machine gun in Vietnam with a mounted Unertl 8X scope with the entire gun stabilized by a sandbag-supported M3 tripod. |

JMB also crafted this rifle...the Model 8. Which he sold to Remington...first auto-loading sporting rifle. This rifle in 35 Rem. is the first round designed exclusively for northern whitetail deer and bear.
You don't want to carry one all day...they are heavy :scholar: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Remington_Model_8 The Model 8 was used in the ambush of Bonnie & Clyde by Texas Ranger Frank Hamer. |
Great story here from the American Rifleman. https://www.americanrifleman.org/con...VmmYyv4syD-NkY
