64 Ford Galaxie 427
 

I came across the remains of a 1964 red/red Galaxie today. It was a manual trans. The door tag and vin are still there. The door tag says rear end code 4 trans 1. The junyard wrote in yellow marker 427 4x2 on the hood. Motor and trans are gone. Is there a way to find out if this was a factory 427 car? Does it have any value as a rusty incomplete car? Earl

It should have an "R" in the door jamb tag and also on the firewall passenger side will have a stamped tag that is part of the firewall. "Q' is a 427 410 HP single 4 barrell...BKH https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

its up top of th efirewall and can be seen with the hood open from the top.. Look for thr R or Q (single 4 barrel carb)

The tag is still on the firewall. Tag is in the door as well. I do not think it has a R. Looked for that. It may have a Q. Will get back for a look early next week. With the digital camera. Earl

At least you were smart enough to follow up and investigate. I have learned the hard way, follow up on every lead when possible no matter how far fetched.
