Amazing BMX Bicycle Collection up for Grabs!

I started collecting BMX bicycles a few years ago. Believe it or not, my motivation was going to car shows and seeing Schwinn Crate Bikes displayed with muscle cars because those are the bicycles that muscle car guys had before their cars. Then I started seeing displays at the Corvette and Musclecar Nationals, however by then I had already started collecting. People between the ages of 35 and 55 grew up with these bikes, and the natural thing for me was to say hey, I want the bike I had when I was a kid! That’s what got me started. The BMX/freestyle bicycles of the 1980s and early 1990s were huge for guys my age. If you are of that age, you either had one or wanted one! My focus of collecting is the Chevrolet of BMX which is GT/Dyno Bicycles our of Huntington Beach California. I have been collecting for a few years and this stuff is RED HOT! It is gone crazy ever since the beginning of the pandemic. I have finally decided to sell my collection. Here’s your opportunity To decorate your garagemahal with one of the most amazing GT bike collections around!

Awesome collection! I still have my GT performer that I built from parts in 1990. And, the Tony Hawk board I bought in 86.

Frank,

An impressive collection. Well done!
What venue are those stadium seats from? Chicago Theatre? Very cool!

Very nice collection. Are you selling as a whole or piecing it out?

Your stuff looks like it's a little newer than what I've had in the past. I've been collecting for about 25 years or so, but my main focus was earlier stuff from 1978 to about 1984 as that was when I was into it as a kid.

You're definitely right about the prices these days, like everything else, they've gone insane. Best of luck with your collection.

Fantastic collection Frank and GLWS.

I have a smaller BMX collection myself, mainly late 70's- early 80's, mainly BMX Products are my focus.

Awesome collection! I still have my 1996 GT Performer that I bought new. I completely disassembled & rebuilt it around 5 years ago after an extremely long time in storage. The original paint still looks good considering it was rode hard & put away wet :D

Thanks for all the positive comments guys!

Dan, the theatre seats are from the Berwyn Theatre which used to be in my old neighborhood at Cermak & Ridgeland!

Markinnaples, my collection mainly consists of stuff from the freestyle era between 1985-1996.
