'70 Chevelle SS396/4-sp, Some Orig Paint, Possible L78?
Neat car with what looks to be an original 6500rpm redline tach indicating a possible L78 heritage.... Currently has a CTX (350hp/4-sp) block. Looks pretty clean - even the trunk paint could be original...?

I wouldn't paint it either. Very cool.

If the car is an L78, it should have an early design hood on it, which it does not. Also, why does the seller claim it’s the real deal, not a clone or tribute, yet lists no reason as to what he is basing that off. I’m sure if there was a build sheet, he would have mentioned it. A picture of the trim tag would be nice. Seller states cranberry red but pictures show black cherry.

Weak TT pic but looks undisturbed w/ 75/75 Cranberry Paint?:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |
Too late to be a L78. Baltimore vin lines up with cowl tag build date of 06A. B D on the cowl tag makes me think a SS with stripes originally. If it were closer to me I would be taking a look.

seats have been done too..

It's not a real factory 375HP Chevelle for many reasons.

The trunk looks original to me, and in great shape. I like the patina on the paint, but that does not look like Cranberry Red paint... even after 49 years. I wonder if the car wasn't painted early in its life?

looks like tape lines all over and I don't believe the stripes went that far into the trunk gutter area?
