can anyone give me a estimate of qt's to fill a 1969 Th 400 with empty converter also what type do you recommend Thank You

Thirty years ago when we were racing those 350/400 transmissions we used Ford type F fluid. It was supposed to be a better fluid and made the trans shift better. That may have changed over the years.

With a dry stock converter 10 quarts total. Add 6, start it briefly to fill converter, add 3 1/2, then add to full when warmed up.

Agree used the same thing Ford type F fluid for a drag racing 400 turbo.
