Sweet car - what do you guys think about the claimed original engine stamp?

Beautiful Car.

I can't say either way with the paint on the pad, the assembly code isn't fully visible, either. It is a pretty car.

I thought all L72 engines had the idler pulley on them.

The pic of the paperwork has a pic of the pad with the paint removed, but it's way to small to see detail. The paper in the upper left corner of that page seems to indicate an 0914 build date for the engine. No pic of the trim tag, that I saw, so no way to compare the engine build to body build. AND no pic of the vin or build stamp on the trans. Is it another game of word spin on "numbers matching" to insinuate "born with " ?? Feels to me, if it is all born with, at that price, they would have far more verification and pics of the numbers for transparency. |
----As far as the stamp, personally I think that a stamping as straight as this needs a further look. Could be OK though. Car sits too high, mostly in the front. Plug wires are 1967 style. Wonder at this price if the hardtop is there or not, not mentioned anyway. Would also like to know if the sidepipes are on the window sticker. A good picture shot correctly would have answered that. I have the feeling that either the person taking the pics doesn't know what to shoot or intentionally is just taking generic pics. An expert sent to look would be a good start....Bill S

That stamp is awfully straight. While this stamp from my old car is 6 months later, I think lack of character alignment is typical
