To all my Friends that had the pleasure of knowing Warren

As several have already stated quite eloquently, our friend Warren was truly one of a kind. I think he had the part number for every piece used for 69 chambered exhaust committed to memory, along with the date that each one was discontinued by GM. Although he probably had more knowledge about 69 Camaro’s than almost anyone he was very willing to share that knowledge with the rest of us and was always happy and willing to do so. I will miss talking to him.

Can’t hardly believe this. How sad. Sincere heartfelt condolences to his family and our Camaro community for this great loss.

I do not post a lot.

I knew Warren for about 36 years and he was an encyclopedia of information about the 1969 Camaro. I will add a little insight to the Warren I knew. I first met Warren in 1986, shortly after purchasing my 1969 Z /28 from the original owner. Warren had posted a Camaro parts ad in a classified newspaper in Connecticut, called the Bargain News.

After talking with Warren on the phone several times, he invited me down to his house which at the time was part of an old estate. I knew it was going to be a great day when I pulled up. There were several classic muscle cars parked in the yard. Two Z/28s and a Yenko Nova. There were several other muscles cars there that day which were part of his collection. Warren was very private on what was in his collection.

Warren greeted me at the door and invited me in. The day just got better and better with the collection of parts, cars and advertising material that he showed me.

Warren stopped by my house in the fall of 2019 to look at some of the items on my Z, as he was getting his Z ready for the upcoming show in Chicago.

He really enjoyed helping people and was a great guy. I have fond memories of that day.

RIP my friend.

Really sad to hear this about Warren, RIP. I didn't know him well but he and I corresponded occasionally regarding my build. He would kindly point out where I had made a mistake and explain to me what was correct. I really appreciated his expertise. The master cylinder on my car was one of several parts I bought from Warren. At the 2019 MCACN show, Warren was kind enough to stop what he was doing and help get my wife and I into the show on Friday before it was open to the public. Just a great guy and very knowledgeable enthusiast.

I am thoroughly disheartened to learn the news about the passing of Warren Malkin Jr. I was first acquainted with him by purchasing 1969 Camaro parts from him off of his ads in Hemmings Motor News (back in the old days before computers became the mainstay for the sale of parts). He helped me with some very hard to find parts that I still did not have and were necessary for the completion of my restoration while the car was in the shop! Thank you from the bottom of my heart and may you RIP, my friend. Don.

The details are not finalized, but there will be a memorial award presented in Warren's honor at MCACN. He was a member of the Vintage Certification team and most likely the award will be announced and presented in our location.

That's really outstanding, Steve. What a nice way to honor his memory.

Many of his friends have reached out Doug P. Mike G., Chris W., Robrt L. and others and we decided this was a great way to keep his passion and memory with us.

So sad to hear of Warrens passing.

Was so neat that he was able to join us at MCACN, where many of us put a face to the name we all knew. Such incredible knowledge and passion.

Please plan on joining us Saturday, November 20 in the Vintage Certification area at MCACN when members of the Vintage Certification team along with friends present a very special award in Warrens honor.
