What a beauty. Love the color combo and the way it was ordered. I just want to drive it!

Yep, it's nice to look at, but the price seems quite ambitious for an Elco.
The one red flag for me is his statement that it comes with it's original GEORGIA title...:dunno: My neighbor bought a '72 Elco out of the Atlanta area several years ago and it didn't have a title, just registration papers and he had a long fight with the MN DMV about that and bonding the vehicle for 3 years. |
I just got back from St George, UT last night Jim. If I'd have seen your post before we left yesterday I would have stopped by the place to check it out.

I like the black vinyl top on this car, the price seems ambitous but who knows...I haven't had any issues buying older cars out of Georgia in Fl. Yes, they're sold on registration only like NY but here in Fl that doesn't seem to be an issue. :dunno:

… this is a neat Elky though ,1970, L78 , 4 speed , build sheet documented, It’s a great driver , but I really should give it a frame off restoration… |

In Georgia you can buy or sell a car on a title, registration or bill of sale(depending on the age of the vehicle). When I buy a car with a title I have the owner sign the title but not date it. A lot(probably the majority) of old vehicles don't have titles in Georgia. Back in the day when I bought a car I would get a new tag but not transfer the title. The title cost $8 to transfer and I wanted to spend that $8 on cold beer. If a vehicle has been registered in Georgia on a bill of sale or a registration they will not issue a title for it. The Elco having it's original title(since it was a 1 owner vehicle) does not raise a red flag for me. At the moment I have 9 vehicles that I bought that are registered to someone else. Two have open titles and the rest are on bill of sale. |
gotta love it - hanger full of cars!!

Dont mean to hijack, but isn't this a problem for insurance purposes? If the car is totalled, according to the policy, they have to pay the registered owner for the claim. |
