Crazy 4 Speed Shifter Hurst Ram Rod?
2 Attachment(s)
Can anyone ID this shifter? The mechanism appears to be Hurst Ram Rod but the handle does not have anything stamped into it. If someone made a new handle and rods for this back in the day, they were very talented.
Thanks, Jason |
That’s a new one!!!

It could have been made as a one off by the Hurst Engineers for a specialty car or even one of there own personal cars.
I have had the pleasure of meeting and hanging with some of the Hurst Engineers....very talented bunch :) Dan |
Cool find.

Thanks guys. Dan, that could certainly be the case. It came out of the heart of Los Angeles from an old hot hodder who used it in a 37 Chevy.

Kinda Looks like a first design “Mr Gasket vertical gate, and the reverse lockout short handle has been cutoff and a taller round handle welded to the stub. If you look at the threads on both handles, 1 is fine, 1 is coarse. Could also be a copy of a Ramrod too. JMO

Sorry for the delay in response. I own the shifter but it won't be in my hands for awhile. I can post more pics when I have it here.
