3963512 427/454 4 Bolt Main Engine Block CE Code Dated L 9 9
 

This is an original 3963512 4 Bolt Main Big Block Chevy engine block. The 3963512 block was used on both 427 and 454 applications. This block is date coded L 9 9 as shown which decodes as December 9th, 1969. The front pad is stamped CE078465. The CE code blocks were used on Warranty/Service replacement engines and on crate engines. This block would be a great replacement for a car missing its original engine or for a dealer transplant 427/454 car missing its original engine.

This block is in good condition overall. It is still standard bore with no sleeves or repairs. It spun the number one main bearing in the 70's and was removed and stored away. When the main bearing spun, that journal got hot and cracked the main journal through the oiling hole as shown. I decided to leave this repair to the buyer since most like to have a shop they trust do the repair. If the block does not sell quickly, I will have the repair done. This is a very hard to find block, especially in standard bore form.
