Barn Finds and Hidden Gems 2018
So with the newest issue of Muscle Car Review being a brief overview of the 2017 display. I thought I would start a new thread for the 2018 display.
What did you think of 2017? Liked, disliked. What do you want to see? I'll have my new book, Muscle Car Barn Finds (http://a.co/gIcVcW7) there, as well as a slew of new pictures of cars never before seen. Of course we will have a whole new batch of cars coming in. There are already a few signed up! Can't wait for November, already well into planning. These are NOT signed up for Barn Finds, just a few pictures I'll have in rotation on the TV at my table. https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4782/4...7c6410e9_c.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4615/2...2bc3ff1d_z.jpg This one is actually in my new book! https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3951/3...69ea813d_c.jpg |
Dislikes...... ?
I really enjoyed seeing Thomas Palasty’s 1969 F85 W-31 and enjoyed meeting them even more!! PS: this year two former Barn Finds Hidden Gems W31’s are returning for the special Invitational :-) Ryan |
Ryan... you da man! This section is awesome! This is such a cool part of the show since you can mingle with the owners and chat about the hunt/find and capture of these rare beasts! Can you do that in the main show section? Sure you can.... but your senses being overloaded with shiney paint, chrome, and the smell of fresh interiors, you can't form sentences anymore! :scholar:
Looking forward to what's in store! Anything Hemispherical in nature is always appreciated! Cheers Dave |
We need a massive update/preview/news flash on this awesome section please!!!! Hello? Is this thing on?? Ryan? Bob? Vicki? Come in! Over!!!:scholar:
Cheers Dave |

Can't wait!! Cheers Dave |
Ryan, I enjoyed your appearance on The Muscle Car Place podcast a couple months ago! I bought a copy of your book as well.
I'm considering attending MCACN for the first time this year. Cheers! |

New additions for BF/HG this week; a super unusual 4-speed non 442 Cutlass and a GTO Judge that hasn't seen the light of day in 31 years.
Going to be another group of fun and surprises! Bashton MCACN Managing Member www.mcacn.com |
OK Ford Aficionado's; let's add a Q-code 4-speed Mach 1 that was last registered in 1978. The new owner just found this one in Winslow, AZ.

Hmmmmm.... was he standing on a corner, by chance??:hmmm::hmmm:
Sorry... couldn't resist! Cheers Dave |
That would have been a flat bed Ford, not a Q code Mach 1, but at least you had the brand right. ;)
|
I believe the correct lyrics are, “I was standing on the corner in Winslow, Arizona looking for a Barn Find for me. It’s Mustang, my Lord, with a Q-Code Ford, and it’s coming to MCACN with me!”:headbang::drool:
Cheers Dave |
You first need to do some load loosening.....

Just helped document this one coming out of a barn, coming to MCACN.... 1963 Olds Jetfire 4-speed car, was original owner until this past weekend.
If you have any interesting Barn Finds you would like to bring to MCACN, we're always looking for cool cars. https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1869/3...c45cb42b_c.jpg https://c2.staticflickr.com/2/1841/3...fc839a63_c.jpg |
Very nice.

That license plate places it as local to me, I'll be interested in it's history!

Tate was one of the good, old school dealerships in town. They sold a bunch of 442s, W30s and 31s etc. I miss those days. |
We are now officially FULL (sold out) for this part of the show.
I have to say that this may be the most unusual and diversified group we have ever had, and there is a long list of truly unexpected and under the radar cars joining us. Bashton MCACN Managing Member www.mcacn.com |
Hey Bashton, pardon my ignorance, but I assume you mean you have a full roster of cars but attendees can still buy tickets, correct?

So now that we have been able to digest from Thanksgiving, and absorb all the awesome that was MCACN. What did you think of Barn Finds & Hidden Gems this year?
I'm going to start rolling out some quick walk around videos of some of the cars from the section. |
Here's the next in the series. The 1969 AMX SS car that was all hush hush!
