Yep, these cars are Bad Boys! I had these stock SCJ heads on my bench. The Intakes flow some major air!

I think Charlie's leaving some room on this one for the next owner, as this car appears to have been "done right." Very cool car and one that should have some upside in the next few years.

Very Kool. So little is known about these cars as most that were magazine tested back in the day were standard Cobra Jets. The difference between a CJ and an SCJ is similar to the difference between an LS5 chevelle vs LS6. High compression , solid lifters and a big Holley in a pony car for 1971........forget- about- it.

Was the Mach 1 style silver hood paint added or was that factory?

Tenney 08-06-2019 01:44 PM

Dig that thing!

I have no idea. I assumed that is how it's supposed to be.

For another 4000.00 You can take it home in this trailer.

muscle_collector 08-06-2019 03:15 PM

that's super cheap on the trailer. im not up on the mustangs but that looks like a really high quality low production car for that little amount of money.

ScottG 08-06-2019 05:25 PM

The hood paint was added, it is also supposed to be semi gloss .. I have seen that car in person. 50k is a deal for that SCJ..

Yes, from the factory if the "Ram Air" option was added. Also got the chrome hood locks.

BTW..Is this a numbers matching car? Thanks

Charley Lillard 08-07-2019 01:15 PM

The article says Date coded correct engine so I assume it's not the orig. engine.

The Marti report says "Ram Air" so are you saying the paint on the hood is correct ?

429scj 08-07-2019 07:22 PM

Yes painted hood, with "RAM AIR 429" decal on both sides, chrome hood locks, ram air hood springs, plenum with two actuators and a Ram Air aircleaner when the Ram Air option checked off on a non MACH 1 car like yours.
By the way, SCJ Ram Air cars got a special aircleaner with larger anti spin tabs for the 780 Holley.
The last year for the 429 SCJ and only in Mustangs.

Charley, I bought my Boss 351 from the guy who had owned this car for awhile. One of my visits to his collection , he said Jacky Jones wanted that SCJ pretty bad. You might give him a call on it.. He owns a huge collection of FORD cars and dealerships. Georgia.

The spatter paint is correct for 1971. There are different colors for different plants.

Charley Lillard 09-30-2019 01:00 PM

A new idiot friend gave me a deposit Saturday so I think this pile is sold :-)
