A what was I thinking purchase!!

This was a what was I thinking purchase, and makes me laugh now :). Back in late 70's I purchased not one but two Subaru 360's. Not sure the motivation, but perhaps because they were unrestored and low mileage (both had under 7k miles). I know I was interested in unrestored cars because I owned my first which was a 67 marina blue Corvette at the time. Ironically they were purchased at a import car wrecking yard next to the iconic K&G speed shop (corner of Eagle & Lawrence rd. in Havertown, Pa)

“The little Sue-barr-ru... wow.” “Cheap and ugly”, but did it “make you happy?” And did you go where big cars couldn’t go? :burnout:

Not so much!!! I got them running and drove them around the neighborhood. I never registered them and once I was transferred from Pa to Ny I sold them. I didn't even know how to shift them, they had auto stick shift and had to depress the shifter knob down as you moved into the next gear ( I learned that the hard way). Published 0-60 times 22 -30 seconds. A very dangerous car to take on any roads with speeds over 40mph.....

----Now you know the way I feel whenever I run around in our Fiat Jolly. People say, "how much horsepower" and my answer is 17 throbbing horses. Always impresses them.....Bill S

Reminds me of the old Renault Dauphines back in the 60's. Nobody ever owned only one, you had to have one or two 'extras' to use for parts.
