Went to Jackson, MI this weekend with my dad and purchased this 1 owner all original 71 Monte Carlo. 61,000 miles ALL ORIGNAL down to the tires. 350 2bbl. TH350 Original burnt orange paint black vinyl top and tan bench seat interior. Bought new in Jackson and lived its whole life in that 1 city. Was built in Oshawa Canada so we will be trying to get the GM of Canada docs from Vintage Vehicle Services. Will get more pics soon!

Great car & color combo as well.
|
----If they are the originals, and I believe you, they must have been off the car for years. Great find!!!.....Bill S

Looks like a keeper!

Car has been "sitting" since the 90's. Cant wait for it to be delivered tomorrow so we can start gong through it. I love the paper work and history on all classic cars so that part will be fun for me!

https://www.vintagevehicleservices.com/options.html If the car was sold new in Ontario (Or ever registered in Ontario) I can buy the UVIP (Used vehicle Information package) Showing ownership back to approx. 1973. http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dan...cle/used.shtml Ryan |
That's awesome thank you Ryan! Car was shipped to Jackson MI when built and was sold and lived their all of its life until it comes to Dads house tomorrow.

Congrats on scoring such an awesome car, especially the color! The Canadian paperwork should include the Delivering Dealer info and more but if you want to add more to the file, you may be able to get an NCRS DD report as this recent thread... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1379132 :beers: ~ Pete . |
She is a beauty!!
|
Thanks Pete we will look into that as well! Thanks Lynn! Off to go take delivery of this great car now!
|
Congrats!!

Perfect color combination!

Thanks guys! Got her home last night now the fun stuff begins! Getting her back to her original glory. Found the P.O.P and original selling invoice. She traded in a 66 LeMans 2 door Post coupe for the car on 10/25/71. Will get more pics up soon.

We had an Oldsmobile 442 the same GM color, ours was a 1972. The Burnt Orange was what Chevrolet called their orange in 1972. With a sale date of 10/25/71 and the color looking very much like the 1972 GM orange, are you sure the Monte Carlo you bought is not a 1972?
|
1972 orange was different. It was a one year color pnt code 65, Orange flame, used across all divisions, less Caddy ? Very different from 1971 burnt orange, pnt code 62.

Nice gem you got there JP. Enjoy!
|
Car is all 71 72 has a different front grille and bumper. The sale date of the car doesn't mean it is not a 71. It could have been on the lot for some time. It is a very low option car.

Thank you Mockingbird!

Dads Monte has come along way! Exterior body wise we have just cleaned it and rubbed it out. He added the 17 inch all aluminum rally wheels, New exhaust with the Trans Am style dual drop down tips, UMI front and rear suspension. New gas tank and lines. The interior front and rear cloth seat covers were too stained to repair so he swapped the cover with new vinyl covers. The rest of the interior is all original. He added the tint to the windows. Engine wise we just cleaned up the bay and block. Rebuilt the 2bbl and just been enjoying it. Cant wait for this spring/summer here in MI

Great job!

New family member 71 Monte Carlo
Congrats on your Monte Carlo purchase! Nice color combo. Interior color was the same as my 1st '71 Monte Carlo, Sandalwood cloth, however my car had bucket seats and console with horseshoe auto shifter. My exterior color was Antigua Green w/o Vinyl Top. It also was a 2bbl. 350 car out of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada but it did have air conditioning. If you should need any interior items, I still have some in stock to sell. Don.

Looks great!
I always get a kick out of how big the engine bay is in these cars. The fan shroud could double as sewer pipe! |

71 Monte...
That is a nice clean looking ride...love the 350/2v combo, great car!
-wilma **and yes you could hide 3-4 bodies in the fan shroud. I remember working on those cars at the local garage back in the early 70's...you could climb into the engine bay and sit on the inner fender :cool2: |
Thats a good looking Monte
|
----Saw an extremely nice SS 70 Monte at Detroit Autorama yesterday. Didn't have a camera though...….Bill S
|
Was that a light green '70 Bill? Someone posted one up on FB from a show and I thought that might be one in the same.
|
----Yup! Thing looked gorgeous......Bill S
|
Saw that there too was a really well done car! We fired up pops Monte yesterday without any issue after sitting all winter long.
