State of collector car prices
 

Just out of curiousity, when do you guys think that the prices for average collector cars; not just the high end cars, will start to climb back to where they were?
The reason I ask is because I have a 1969 Corvette that I am thinking about selling; I don't drive it as much as I'd like, I don't have the skills or money to restore it like many on the forum do nor do I have the place to do that type of work if I did. However, I don't want to sell it in this market only to find that, if I had just hung on to it a few more years I could have gotten at least what I paid for it.
I know Corvettes aren't the hot car on this forum but, I really value everyone's opinion on this site.

Im currently looking for a 69 435 convert right now,i think the prices are going to follow the 67 prices,if i was a betten man i would say 3 to 4 years,and the prices will be back up.Now is the time to buy one ,not sell,unless you have to...

Unless you sell and look for another car to buy that you really want to have that also may appreciate in the future.

The prices are still extremely strong on the elite muscle cars with a solid pedigree and paperwork. But the prices for the fringe cars and clones have definitely fallen. Once the economy picks up so will the car market… many are predicting it will be even much stronger than before. Most collectors don’t have to sell their cars now and they wont unless they get the kind of money the cars are truly valued at. These cars will only continue to rise in the future because they are such an integral part of American history and culture! RM

price it for what you want, if it doesnt sell keep it, if youre really not enjoying it at least test the market.

an interesting original documented 427 car will always have interest no matter what the economy, you know what you want for it just stick to your price.

Right car will always bring right money. As evidenced by current spike of values of L88 cars, when most car values remain soft.

Excuse me, I said spike. I should have said rise as I don't think values on GOOD L88's will ever drop.
