SCR11, from the Pres.
THANKS TO:
All of our sponsors and members whose generous donations make the SCR possible. Everyone who pitches in wherever needed, without complaint. All of the participants who patiently “go with the flow”, realizing everything planned will happen, maybe just not when scheduled. To the car owners who each year showcase, both indoors and at the track, some of the baddest musclecars ever built. To all of you, I salute you. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif As several have said, the SCR has become much more then just a car show, it is about family and friends. At most shows everyone is part of a small group, and basically hangs with that group, while at the SCR everyone is part of the same group, with everyone interacting with each other. All weekend I kept hearing the same thing, about how laid back and causal the event was. Each year it seems the event cannot get any better, but IMO, SCR11 raised the bar to a new level. See ya next year. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif |

As much fun as I have had in the past, this year may have been the best yet for me.
First of all, having a lot of my family there was really special. Rob’s son Drew, who is 7, is really hooked on racing. Late on Friday he got to go with Rob in the Camaro where they did a nice smoky burnout (which he loves to see) and make a13.16 pass. Second, for me, it seemed like it was 1971, taking part in a Stock Eliminator meet, with me in “Red Alert”, Bob Hamilton’s SS/DA LS-6 Chevelle. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/355547-scr11-4.jpg The day started with me paired against Kim Howie in his Gibb/Harrell Camaro. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/355547-scr11-2.jpg Round two saw me up against Mike Guarise in his “Black Gold” Pontiac. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/355547-scr11-1.jpg Finally up against the old man himself, Ken Barnhart in his ZL-1 Camaro. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/355547-scr11-3.jpg |
