Joe Sapp's (JHS's) 1968 Buick Skylark GS400
Bruce,
I took my 1968 Buick Skylark GS400 out for a spin and took some pictures. I think this car might be of interest to members as I have not seen many of them around my neck of the woods. This is a California black plate car, original body panels and drive train except NOM. I installed a rebuilt 1968 430ci motor from a Riviera and dressed it up as a 400. The rear bumper is off of a 1969 GS and I had to take some liberties with the wiper and washer switches as I could not find replacements. I also installed a Custom Auto Sound am/fm/cd player but still have the original radio. I have included a copy of the build sheet detailing the options. This is a great driver and it will truly boil the tires. I think the Skylark had great lines and the color combo sets it off. Nice Buick, Joe! I've always had a soft spot for them since back in the day beating my father's 455 Electra into oblivion. (I wish I hadn't done that) Anyway, that 430 engine probably gets out of it's own way pretty well! Thanks for sharing, Ed

[/ QUOTE ] I also have a 1963 Riviera with the original drive train including the 425/340hp nail head, 2sp Dynaflo automatic and 3.31 posi. It is maroon w/ cream interior and also has very classic body lines. It has been restored and a great driver. Getting ready to drop a built 455 and TH400 into it. |
