A.I.R. on exhaust manifold
1 Attachment(s)
This is a 1967 Chevy II 283 assembled december 7 1966. Did they use A.I.R. only on California cars back then or was it used in other states as well ? The stamp on the pad reads: VI207PU

Re: A.I.R. on exhaust manifold
In '67, A.I.R. was required in a California sold vehicle only.

Re: A.I.R. on exhaust manifold
------Nobody would have done it but I think A.I.R. in 1966 was an option that could have been ordered on certain powertrain options in any state in the union. Cars with those powertrains destined for California had to be ordered with A.I.R. though. Im not claiming that this is written in stone somewhere. Its just what I have always thought........Bill S

Thank you guys !
I´m also wondering about the black stripe with "Chevrolet" in white on the valvecovers. Was that California-specific ? I have not seen it before. |
