1970 396/350 ss nova for sale
1970 SS 396/350hp numbers matching nova
restored, numbers matching 1970 nova, factory bench seat, auto on the column "SS" 1970 was the last year for the big block nova, and GM went on strike mid year which made them rarer. most people think the "SS" package has something to bucket seats and console, but they are separate options, the 396 was only available with the"SS"package in 1970,so if its a factory big block its an SS this car is not a 1000pt show car but it is a very, very, clean original, restored car[there is always something someone can find that,s not perfect] with all number's matching components........ HERE ARE THE NUMBERS. engine code: T0406CTW,[which translates to 396/350 hp 11.1 comp,4 barrel, turbo 400 trans casting # is 3969854,casting date code is A3070 [means Jan 30th ,1970] serial # is stamped above oil filter as they sometimes where back then.[besides on top of block] vin # ; 114270W332320: which means it was a gm built car, nova ,8 cylinder,2dr coupe, built at the Willow run assembly plant Trim Tag info: ST 70-11427 WRN 303616 BDY trim.731[black bench seat] paint code 28-28[fathom blue ,top and bottom] the build date : O5A [which means built 5th month 1rst week ] the other code next to it is "1026" which from what I was able to find out so far means [maybe] the car is not an issue item, according to "Chevrolet service news" dated Jan 1970[what ever that means ,if someone knows let me know] they say it was like ordering a copo car??????? [if anyone know's what this means let me know thanks] the mileage reads 70053,as of when I typed this this car has P/S,P/db,am radio [that works] 12 bolt posi with 3.73,s this is a very ,very nice riding and running car, dam even the choke works, car sits, for months go in hit it twice and starts right up......ah the good ole days..... http://i40.tinypic.com/s16re0.jpg http://i40.tinypic.com/6h3wgj.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/k9e4n5.jpg http://i42.tinypic.com/zk6gd2.jpg http://i43.tinypic.com/nzg00p.jpg http://i39.tinypic.com/5f2psx.jpg this car is just sitting not doing me any good,if i start to use it ,i will turn it into a stock suspended race car,as that is what we do,lol .i think its to nice for that.http://www.nrcmotorsports.com price 36k email,[email protected] |

Pretty nice looking car...Fathom Blue is a great color on a Nova https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif 731 interior is the plain jane trim..car should have rubber mat, taxi cab vinyl seats, etc. looks like the grill and bezels are regular Nova...seller was upfront and said there were some minor issues...overall looks nice...would like to see some more pics...CR is 10.25 on that motor and I've never seen a VIN by the oil filter on a BB Nova....others may have different info. Any docs or trans info...??? Nice car....good luck with the sale....you couldn't build it for that price https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif

Re: 1970 396/350 ss nova for sale
Some more detailed photos of the car inside and out would help potential buyers....door panels, jams, inside trunk, more underhood shots, back seat, etc....maybe a few more undercarriage also. Does it have the rear sway bar..?? Trans tag is on the pass side of the tranny housing...should have a C prefix followed by another letter, probably F...hi-horse cars had the W code. There will also be a julian date...most folks will also want to know the details on the bolt-on components eg; alternator, distributor, carb, water pump, starter, radiator,etc...rad support on BB Novas has a wider opening than the SB units...
