Novas of a different stripe

Was in Argentina recently and thought you guys would get a kick out of some of this stuff.

This is a '69 Nova Super. It has the 230 I-6, I believe, and a 3-speed on the column. The owner's grandfather bought it new, and it has original paint. For a Buenos Aires car, it's in remarkably good condition.

This one was driving by and slowed down to take a look. It is of a similar vintage, but this one is a Rally Sport [sic?]. Notice the hood scoops. I bet this one has the same engine but with a 4-speed, but I don't know for sure.

And, finally, here's a Dodge GTX, which was based on the A-body (Dart to us) but has the styling of a B-body (Coronet). It has a 318 4-speed. However, the striped car - a Polara R/T - has the /6 engine and a 4-speed despite it looking sportier.

Interesting that they call this a 69 as it has 62-65 sheet metal. Very cool, can't say I've every seen one trimmed out like this. Thanks for posting!!

I lived in Argentina from 1979 to 1984. At that time you could buy a Ford Falcon new off the showroom floor that was basically a late 60s US version updated for trim, etc. They even had a Ranchero version.

Here's a later one. Officially, I think this is called a "Chevy Cupe SS Serie 2," which basically is saying "Chevy Super Sport Coupe Series 2" - notice it's not called a Nova! I know of 3 or 4 generations of these where the stripe is different on each one. This the second generation stripe. The fourth one is the best-looking, in my opinion, and I think the third one is very similar but I don't recall ever seeing one. There's no car books to learn this stuff with certainty.
