I hope these are big enough to read. There was discussion on another thread and I said I would post the work order I got with my 67 Pacecar. https://www.yenko.net/attachments/390410-tn_IMG_0959.JPG

Cool stuff, Charley. I never get tired of seeing your Pace Car.

WoW!
Where did you obtain those documents from Charley? |
Re: 67 Pacecar work order
Charley, engine removed and put in fleet vehicle. Does that mean your original 350 went into a regular fleet company car????????? Roger

Re: 67 Pacecar work order
Orig engine was a L78 and yes it was supposed to go in a fleet car.

Re: 67 Pacecar work order
Documents came with the car when I bought it from Dan Young. Dan Young bought it from Chevrolet. Dan Young was given the documents by Vince Piggins. Piggins told Young that even though the work order called for three cars, only two were built. I thought I had posted this answer yesterday but I guess not.

Re: 67 Pacecar work order
Thanks for posting Charley. First page is a bit tough to read, anyway to clean it up a bit?
According to another researcher who has interviewed pretty much everyone that could be located from the original Pace Car program a third car was built as a test mule for Chevrolet engineering but was likely destroyed and has not been seen since its last appearance at the proving grounds in May of 67. The car may have survived if some savvy engineer type or someone close to the program managed to rescue and buy it from Chevrolet before it was destroyed but as of right now it looks like the car did not make it out of engineering alive. |
