Impala "barnfinds" in Sweden
Today I visited a guy who has been a cardealer for many years. Heīs been buying and selling many hundreds of American musclecars. He finds some here in Sweden, but most of them he buys in California. Like this 1967 SS 427 Impala that he has had for many years. At least it sits in a warm and dry building so it doesnīt get hurt.

Re: Impala "barnfinds" in Sweden
Here is another one that has actually been sitting in a barn-like building for almost teen years. It needs a new paint and vinyl roof but its actually still very nice. Itīs got a 325 hp 396. It was brought in from Belgium by a guy who has one of the NASCAR 1969 Camaro Convertibles.

More of the 1968 Caprice

Re: Impala "barnfinds" in Sweden
Any more pics or story on that Blue 67 Chevelle ? I see it has the 65 SS trim on the rear quarter, is that a Canadian model?
thanks for posting. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif |

WOW! 1967 SS427's are very special cars. You just gotta love that hood. I'm also pretty fond of that '68 Caprice with the Hide-a-way headlights and four speed. I've always had a soft spot for 4-door hardtops where you can roll all the windows down and have all that "openess" around you.

Re: Impala "barnfinds" in Sweden
Chris and James, that -67 Chevelle is a Nordic model that was built in Canada, as can be seen on the firewall which is bodycolor. As for the -65 SS trim, I canīt remember the exact reason why they used it. But since they used the L-6 as the base engine (which was also used in the SS Impalas) mabye they wanted it to look different than the US-built/sold cars ? I didnīt scan the whole article and now I canīt find the magazine, so Iīm not sure why.
http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...alibuSS001.jpg The Canada-built blue car has a blue firewall and the US-built om the right has a black firewall. This blue Nordic SS doesnīt have the base L-6 but rather the upscale 195 hp 283 https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/shocked.gif. http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...alibuSS003.jpg Iīm not sure if the car in the article is the same as in my pic, but I think so. Did I mention that all 1967 Chevrolets sold in Sweden by GM Nordiska AB were equipped with disc-brakes ? At least according to ads in the newspapers. http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/q...67MalibuSS.jpg |
