1967 Z28 #178 in Registry

This 67 Z28 comes with a copy of the original title and JM certification. It is #178 in the 67 Z28 Registry. The original owner signed an affidavit certifying that it has 144 original miles and all original sheet metal except for the inner tubs. The original owner never registered this car for the street and he states that in 1970 he won the U.S. Nationals with the car. It was also a National Record holder in A/SM AHRA. The car was originally Bolero Red with white stripes and std black interior. This car is offered as is for $35,000.00 or sold with a complete restoration for $115,000.

Hey Chris, I really wanted to see the car doing wheelies again in it's day two configuration!!! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif

I hope you don't mind me filling in a few details. I sat down with the original owner for a few hours when I bought the car. The story goes that he was a mechanic for Hubler Chev. in Indianapolis. This car arrived Friday at the dealership, he bought it Monday, and had it at the track the following Friday.
It was raced with the stock red paint with white stripes, but the stripes had a lace paint job on them early on. The car was actually called "Chantilly Lace" back then according to Joe. He only raced the car sparingly for a few years early on. He did all the subsequent painting and metalflake over the years himself until he parked the car in the early 70's.
He said he got "top-secret" info from Chrysler on how to set-up the new for 70 Hemi-Cuda suspension..so he went out and bought a new Dana 60 and installed it and the roll bar according to the directions he had gotten. He says the car pulls the wheels a foot off the ground leaving the hole about 8500 rpms and carries the wheels thru 60 feet...(don't know if that story has been embelished over the years or not..haha.., but i still have the cam card he gave me that states the rev limit at 9000 rpms with the "high-rev" kit addition to the cam.
He had some great stories about being a poor racer...how he lent his racer best friend money for dinner for thier wife and kids and his friend came home with new headers and a bag of pretzels....and many stories about the "tricks" they used back then...I think they call that "cheating" nowadays...haha. If only cars could talk!!!

Good Luck on the sale..I hope it finds a good home!!

But Id rather see ya put the gummies back on and throw a high revvin 302 in it and give a romp or two as-is....

What do all you guys think??? The Supercar reunion???

Make that car a D/Stocker or an early Day-2 street car with some vintage speed parts. Could use a pair of the Plowmans tow tabs! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ins/3gears.gif https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
