Rechrome of Cragar SS wheels

Looking for someone to rechrome a pair of Cragar SS wheels. Has anyone had this done that can provide a recommendation?

Might be a re-post, anyways...An old froum member that goes by "Whitetop" had his wheels done. I beleive they went out to Stockton.

Process was something like grind welds, seperate aluminum centers, restor each then weld them back together. Def worth it for non-unilig wheels!

For anyone interested the price is $225.00 per wheel. The center section of the wheel has to be removed from the rim, with each piece plated separately and then reasembled. The process of separating the 2 pieces can be tricky (especially on corroded wheels) and the center can be destroyed. The turn a round is 6-8 weeks.

For now I have to use the wheels as is. Anyone have any suggestions for cleaning the chrome? I was going to go at it with 000 steel wool. The wheels are pretty good other than right by the lug holes.

I would not use the steel wool because if you get even one tiny piece of chrome braking off and caught in the steel wool, you will just create a ton of new scratches in the existing chrome. I ended up using Simichrome chrome polish and a lot of fluffy, towels to capture any tiny pieces of chrome flakes.

If you go here you can see what I did with my 1970 set:
