Cowl Tag Reproduction?
Can a cowl tag be made for a 73 Z28? Or once it's gone it's gone? The car is in Canada, so if it was originally sold there and the VIN number is correct, the owner can have GM Vintage Vehicle services print up all the original options and proof the car is or isn't a Z28. Does anyone know if the tag can be reproduced if it's currently missing?

Re: Cowl Tag Reproduction?
IMO the missing tag is now part of the car's overall history. With GM of Canada Doc's the car will take a value hit - but likely not much if the option content is really good and the VIN is a bonified non-tamper issue.
I would not put a repro tag on it. |
Re: Cowl Tag Reproduction?
-----Phil has kindly given you his opinion but not a direct answer. Yes! you can get a trim-tag reproduced. It will be picked out by knowledgeable enthusiasts weather it matches the Canadian paperwork or not. The question of weather you should or not is something you will have to wrestle with.......Bill S

Re: Cowl Tag Reproduction?
You should be able to tell if a 73 Camaro is a Z by the VIN alone.
