Huntington sees the future

I always thought Roger Huntington was one of the greats of automotive journalism. Mostly because he had a great sense of the past's relationship to the future, as is the case in an August 1975 (!) CARS article I just posted in Comment/Suggestions under topic 'test article'.

Even then, he knew.

My dad used to get Cars and Parts magazine. I just found one last week where many cars that are now near worthless were five figures while a Z16 was for sale for $4200 by Bob Wingate.

I could have bought a Z16, completely original and un-modified, for $1800. in 1979 but I had about $40. left over at the end of the month.

In the '80s I had the pleasure of co-authoring an article with Roger on the history of the 409s. It was in Musclecars magazine (the original published in No. Jersey, not the other one in Fl that claimed to be the first musclecar mag). Many people may not realize that Roger was confined to a wheelchair, even when he wrote "drive reports". He was a classic and I wish the hobby had more editors like he was who actually knew the meaning of researching facts before going to print. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/flag.gif
