Nice 409!
[b]Had the pleasure of taking a ride in Verne’s 409 last weekend. What a car, Verne’s had it since high school –
though he was quick to point out he’s not the original owner! (He was not even a teenager when it was new) How many of us still have the same car we dated our wives in 40 years ago! http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010155.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010148.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010149.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...10158-Copy.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010153.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010163.jpg - Both 4 bbl’s open! -http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010167.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010171.jpg - 28 thousand mile 2nd owner 409 4 spd car – nice!! - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010174.jpg - http://i158.photobucket.com/albums/t...e/P1010175.jpg - |
Re: Nice 409!
Is the blue car the one that was bought off this site with a 6 cyl in it?

Re: Nice 409!
No - that's an original 409 - 4 spd car

Re: Nice 409!
I think the car you're talking about is Bel Air Bob's '64 Bel Air that turned out to be a real 409 car. Verne's Nassau Blue '62 is a real 409 and hopefully, he'll post the photos of how he found it. I really like BOTH his '62's! Great cars!

Gotcha, sorry to put that light on this thread. I couldn't remember the year, just the color. Awesome cars!

Verne, what happened to the nice 380HP set up? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/smile.gif The story on the blue car is great and hope Verne can share it.

Re: Nice 409!
I'll post more pics at some point in the future as it goes back together. The interior needs a headliner and carpet. I'm rebuilding the engine so the engine compartment will get fluffed as well.
The original owner kept everything but there was not one single piece of 380hp stuff to be found. I spoke to a person who knew the car back then and was told he took it to a dealer in late '62 and had the 2x4 stuff swapped, even the valve covers with the 409hp decals. I'm trying to figure out whether to put it back that way or as a correct 380 as new https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif Verne |
