Re: Search Help

Thanks guys.

how did you search for it? I put in parts washer solvent danger, a date range of older than 6 months and newer than 3 years and got everything but. I also tried googling for it.

Always try to enter the least amount of words and pick one that's unique to stand out,not ones used commonly.
I typed in Cancer, and by 3macs1,as I remember Joe started that topic.

It's often easier to skip the magical search feature here and use Google w/ "yenko.net" and whatever else you're searching for in the box..

Re: Search Help

A few *tips* off the top of my head for any of the bulletin board search engines (google, yahoo, bing, etc, as well)...

Adding "+" in front of each search word = each word you search for must be contained in that specific post (ie, you search +cat +dog, so the specific search result will have to have both cat and dog in that post, not just randomly throughout the thread.)

Using " at the beginning and end of your search phrase = search results must contain that exact phrase (ie, you search "cat and dog", and the results have to contain the exact phrase "cat and dog")

You can use the * in front of search variables that are too short (ie, you wanna search "69 camaro", but the software says part of the search string [69 in this case] is too short, so just add the * in front of 69, and search "*69 camaro"...you can even use multiple bullets [**] within some software]

I can almost always find exactly what I'm looking for on the first try using the tricks above...

Thanks for the tips. I cut and pasted the "tips" and saved it as a document on my computer for the next time I have to search for something on here. That way I can find them so I can do a proper search. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Re: Search Help

I cant seem to get the search function to work at all. No matter what I put in , it comes back with no results and then after 3 or 4 tries it blocks me out saying I have exceeded my search requests.
